World Hunger Day

What?

World Hunger day is the 28th March 2020, this year’s focus is the rapidly changing landscape of global hunger and poverty.

More than 820 million people in the world don’t have enough food and World Hunger day is a campaign to take action to relieve poverty across a multitude of areas including education, social justice, the environment and climate change which are also factors leading to increased hunger.

Where?

With 98% of the world’s undernourished living in developing countries and areas, 60% being female, the solution is to help raise their standard of living so these communities can become economically sufficient within themselves.

Earth Rewards does not just focus on carbon but a huge aspect of our projects work is socio-economic.

There are 10,500 people that call Borba in the Amazon home, spread across 1.3 million hectares within 105 communities. Being isolated from the modern world by sheer distance they have rudimentary healthcare and education, the two being inextricably linked in the cycle of poverty.

Providing cleaning drinking water, renovating communities and schools whilst providing youth workshops on protecting the environment whilst enlisting them in the project helps develop their social fabric to avoid issues of poverty, therefore, hunger.
